Michael Kosmides got his start in real estate in the late 1990’s, purchasing his first home with the help of a young loan officer named Darran Anthony. With Darran’s help, Michael went on to own a successful property flipping and rental business. In 2007, at Darran’s urging, Michael liquidated his real estate business. In the same year Michael would purchase a fine dining restaurant in Washington DC’s K Street Corridor called Teatro Goldoni. Teatro Goldoni would go on to win the 2010 Rammy for Favorite Restaurant and would later peak at #21 in Washingtonian Magazine’s Top 100 Very Best Restaurants. In late 2011, he would open Cities Restaurant & Lounge directly across the street from Teatro. Cities quickly became a staple of the World Bank and Lobbyist crowd and a wildly popular event destination. In 2016, Michael started a family. By the end of the year, he’d formed Temple Hills LLC and returned to the more “family friendly” world of real estate investing. Michael started working with Darran again, who by now had become president of a fast-growing, hugely successful mortgage lending business, with tremendous community outreach. Eventually Michael said “Darran, I want to love what I do the way you love what you do and to help people the way you always helped me”. Two years later Michael has been given the opportunity to work for a wonderful company, to serve his community, and to help others.
“In terms of buying a home, I’d like to think I’ve seen it all. I’ve been on every side of a real estate transaction. I understand how important the finance piece is to every transaction and I know how unique every transaction can be. I’ve worked with buyers to repair their credit and help them gameplan a path to approval when they were otherwise fighting an uphill battle. If someone gives me the opportunity to help them, I will do everything within my power to do so”.
Michael and Kara Kosmides live in Annapolis along with their three children: Catherine, Michael Jr, and Sandra.
